it will idle. but its gonna run like **** because basemaps are way too rich. dont go out an beat on your car on a basemap. wait until you get it tuned

yep...it's bascially so you can run bigger injectors and get to your tuner so he can tune. Not to drive around on and boost

there has got to be a good tutorial around here on how to actually tune. what numbers to change and why. i know how all the stuff works and how to chip my ecu but once that is done everthing is so vague.
tuning isn't just punch some numbers and go. You really have to know why an engine wants to do something and how to correct this. Of course you can run conservative and then you can just punch some numbers, but you're not making peak safe HP
.
AF in my opinion is easy to do. Watchthe wideband and add or subtract fuel where it needs it.
Ignition is harder, but yields the best rewards like better power and significantly quicker spool up. Not to mention reduced EGT's compared to an overly conservative tune. Here's a good thread http://www.boosted-hybrid.com/viewtopic.php?t=136 and http://www.streetrodstuff.com/...x.php

I wouldn't even both trying to tune your ignition if you are a beginner. Just set up up a good step retard ignition for your boost and leave it. Whether you are using Crome or Uberdata, what you should do is just DL the software and start messing with it. You dont even need to have it hooked up to your car yet. Just open up Crome or UD and start making basemaps, and adjusting the cells.
