Default Ballbearing turbos q's?

I have a t03/04 in my car right now. The car is going down for upgrades in a few weeks. What I want to know is a ball bearing turbo worth the money. What kind of gains would I expect to see and would I sacrifice any streetability? I'm hungry for some extra boost but I don't know if boosting up to 25psi is my goal. What should I expect from a ball bearing other than faster spool up?

There really is no other advantage for a ball bearing turbo except quicker spool up time. You'd be better off using a boost controller, open dp and smaller intercooler piping if you are looking for quicker spool up time.

Or you can do everything CRXRageD said to do AND get the ballbearing option for the quickest spool up time possible! :D

BB turbos are A LOT stronger.

I don't know if it really makes a HUGE difference in spool-up (i have one).

What about reliablity? I heard ball bearing turbos would last longer - especially the dual ball bearing turbos from innovative turbo systems

Well, the car is going down next weekend to be exact, I am replacing my greddy profec b with a Blitz sbc-id. Switching to a Tial 35mm wastegate and I'm welding up my cracked downpipe, and the new suspension and brakes are going in. I'm going to try to dyno the car and design new fuel and spark tables for 18psi. I am just curious about the ball bearing configuration and wondering if I had the same kind of turbo with a ballbearing as opposed to my current setup, what gains would I get out of it. Also, my concern is what are the pro & cons of it all.

When you want a quicker spool up time you should also install some air-water intercooler instead of the common air/air one. The turbo donīt has to blow up so many pipes and the big front mount intercooler.
