Bad Wastegate Diaphragm Symptoms? (TIAL)
ok i've done some looking around and seems to find a lot of HKS stuff & primarily internally gated turbo problems.
I'm having an issue when hooking up my boost controller to the top port of the wastegate. Without even opening the valve that would allow positive pressure to the top of the gate, it's trying to over-boost.
I've been at this for about 4hrs tryin to figure this thing out coz i'm going on the dyno in the morning and i'd really like to crank the power up.
lemme know what you guys think are the most common symptoms of a tial wastegate diaphragm failure.

If pressure is escaping before entering the lower WG port, or isn't able to be contained (ripped diaphragm), then it not open the valve, which will overspin the turbo - and overboost.
Make sure the WG port has a 100% dedicated vac line to use for testing it out.
