Is this a bad position for the air filter ?
I could not create a ram air effect or anything like that because of the manifold position.
All I could do is this :
Do you think there's a better idea ?

filter looks fine. doesnt matter if there is a ram air effect or not really but having a filter on the turbo is always a must (imo on a street driven vehicle). most people have less room than you do and just put a filter directly on the turbo with no ill effects. as for the oil question... the oil pan. i have actually never heard of an oil rail?

mine is almost exactly like this but just on the passenger side (with the same kinda piping lol). been running like that for years, no issues. always better to have a filter than not on a DD

DO IT ON ALL FOURS
Re: Is this a bad position for the air filter ?
On a side note: Your pyrometer (EGT) probe is in a useless spot. It needs to be on the number 3 runner about 3/4 - 1" away from the head. If you must put it on the down pipe it should be the same distance as mentioned before from the Turbo...

Re: Is this a bad position for the air filter ?
one more question..
also my piping diameter from the turbo to intercooler is 2". and there are 3 elbows. 2 of them are 90 degrees, and the other is 135 degrees.
however, the turbo outlet diameter is also 2" so I think this must be OK.
Thank you !

Re: Is this a bad position for the air filter ?
A ram air effect with a turbo is almost pointless. At full boost the turbo will ingest more air than is being pushed into the intake.. Since the intake won't have enough surface area to matter
the boundary layer of air prevents most of the air.from being forced into the intake.. It just flows over the car
