bad main can cause fuel pump issues?
I recently installed a new walbro, This days it's start to sound different like tired. I remove the main relay and following the FAQ's discovered a few terminals with to little solder amount. This can cause the pump to act like this?
thanks

very very possible. if relay is not commanding correct voltage and or amperage it will put a srain on pump motor and can change pitch of motor

ls i have NEVER wired a real walbro 255. not saying it should not be but i have run in last 10 hondas and currently never an issue graphed EVERY one within 6 months and still pullin oem specs for electrics.
btw OP. dont buy new unless they are dirt cheap. go to pick a part get hand full of them for around 10$

^ tru actual psi used makes 1000x important higher you go more amp capacity. i havenever had to set over base of 51-52psi

actually I'm at 52psi.
The original wiring at 393whp @18psi it's working fine. But hearing all the guys here mention the 30amp rewire. I think why not for peace of mind.
I think to stick with 12ga wire for now, I'm not planning to go any further in this set up. My turbo is in his peak power.

Re: bad main can cause fuel pump issues?
yea i think i was near my comfortable limit of oem wiring on my one setup that was in the low 50's. never hurts to over wire ( to some degree)

That's not over wiring. The amp requires a 30amp circuit which is 10awg wiring. The stock wiring is inadequate. Yes you can use it but your harming the pump by not supplying the correct amount of amperage due to the tiny stock wiring.
To each his own. IMO do it right the first time.

Re: bad main can cause fuel pump issues?
I always hardwire my walbros with 10awg and a 30amp relay... Easier to do it right the first time and not have an issue then to have to go back and re-wire the pump when you start having issues with the stock wiring.
Did it on my s13 (sr20) and it made a huge difference

Re: bad main can cause fuel pump issues?
I had both my 255 and then my 450 grounded to the seatbelt bolt with no issues. The shorter the ground wire the better when talking electrical in a car. My new Magnafuekl mp4303 is grounded to a bracket on the underside of the car about 6 inches form the pump. Its saved me using a self tapper and it allows a good ground.

Re: bad main can cause fuel pump issues?
hi guys, Already replace the main and rewire the pump, works super but have two questions:
1-The Fuel pump relay is getting hot. Normal or faulty ground?
2-The fuel pressure don't drop from 60psi no matter how much turns I give to the regulator. It raise but not down, before it was a 52-53psi.
