Bad idle after a hard pull!
Same problem, d16z6 with comp 59300 cam and its so weird..ill beat it and it will idle and studder down low, but if i let it idle it will go back to normal like i hit a switch..its so weird

do you have an aftermarket coolant gauge, my stock gauge never moves, and my real gauge can move 50-60 degrees.
i have the same problem too, but if i boost it hard again after it idle bad, it goes away. very odd.
platinum.

i took my car back to the tuner because it was using up a lot of gas going to work and back. used up 1/4 of a tank in 25 miles. We put the wideband in and put the car on the dyno. the a/f in idle was between high 10's and low 11's. We made a pull to see what the a/f was when the idle went bad and it was in the mid 20's...
why would it do that? we turned the car off and back on and it went back to the low 11's again so we adjusted as close to 14.7 as we could so that I wouldnt use up so much fuel cruising around out of boost. with the a/f where it needs to be at idle we did another hard pull then let off...this time the a/f shot up between the low 30's and high 20's and the idle was worse until it just died. I am really pissed off now. I either have to use up a lot of fuel cruising so that when I do boost and let off it wont stall or just not boost at all.

Could be something in crome not set right. I think it's the tune. What size injectors are you using? Did the tuner set the very first column of fuel? Alot of people tend to not even mess with the first column, but I find it very important especially when you let up off the throttle. Also, datalog using crome to view where your map sensor is reading while at idle, could be that the computer is reading in the wrong column.
I am using RC550's. The second time I took it to him we he was tuning the idle and partial throttle. So you think its crome itself or the tune? Why does it only do it after I hit vtec under boost?

I sincerely do not think it is a Crome issue because more people would have it.</TD></TR></TABLE>
Damn that makes even more sense if its something thermal..i have a shitty idle sometimes (aside from this problem) and if i turn the heat on it will even out sometimes

IAT and ECT trims get a little out of control. You may want to invest in some datalogging gear (it's cheap) so you can monitor which cells the motor ends up in after a hard pull. Often it will behave a little differently than while idling cold.
I'm just tryin to help - nothing more.
And I don't think I'll be up in Chi-town again anytime soon Dave... Going to Vegas next week for SEMA, which should chew up most of my "fun" monies for a while. Already into the slow season for tuning here - I have to worry about eating and paying bills more than travelling.

i was gonna say maybe the iat and ect temps rose too an extreme, that the car runs whacky.
