Bad ? Eagle rods...

i have a honda and an acl bearing here. The honda bearing is wider than the acl, but only on one side.

Called Eagle, got some pretty interesing info. They said that Gsr rod bearings are skinnier than all other b series motors. The R, b16, ls, ect have wider rods and therefore wider bearings. The Gsr is the only usdm motor with the skinner bearing. I believe he said the civic type R in japan uses the smaller bearings also.

I would say use the honda bearings that match the crank, thats what i did ( Ls crank = ls # 3 rod bearing) .. I platiguaged them and they are all in spec.

yea, i went through and ordered all the honda/acura bearings. Just thought some people might be interested in the rod bearing differences. Im sure alot of people know, but i know alot of people dont

They are wrong, ITR/GSR/B16 use the same sized bearings. LS/B20 is what has a wider bearing on the rods, the mains are all the same. If you are using the proper rods with the proper crank there should not be a problem. And nope, ACLs should fit and be sized exactly like stock, if not then something is wrong.

hmm... i donno what to think anymore. All i know is i have eagle rods for a gsr and i order gsr rod bearings from acura.
