Backplate questions???
What is the purpose of the anodized back planes on the compressor? I know that the drag comes in a blue anodized and I think that signifies something, but what exactly? If someone knows what the color means can you please let me know?
Thanks,

Look at the pic... the anodized plates are cut from billet while the non-anodized are cast!
On a different note.. who would you guys reccomend for compressor housing honing. My T04S blade(similar to 60-1) looks like monkey turds so I'm gonna upgrade it to a 62-1. I can't use a Garret/Turbonetics 60-1 because the stupid HKS blade is a Hybrid 60-1/62-1. The bottom of the blade is convex like the 62-1 but the inudcer/exducer setup is the same as the 60-1 but with slightly different splitters. I'm gonna use my 57trim T04E until I get this resolved.
Art or Mark C.. please IM me if you know of a good shop.

They are actually for looks art. Theres really no performance increase.
Well the reason I ask is because when I was at the Turbonetics both someone asked me what they were for. And I told them looks also. Then the turbonetics rep said that they actually mean something, but he wasnt 100% sure what they meant.
