Default .60 a/r GT30R style ported shroud compressor housing on GT32?

Well currently I run a .50 a/r compressor housing on my GT32 ( not a precision, its straight from Garrett ). I really like the bigger inlet and the anti-surge on the larger GT30R style compressor housing. I was wondering if its possible to swap compressor housings, or does machine work need to be done for different compressor wheels?

I know my compressor is a 71mm exducer and 52 trim....I think its also a 52mm inducer but im not positive on that. The GT30R has a 76mm exducer and I think its a 56mm inducer. So If I just swapped housings it looks like my wheel would fit, but would it actually work correctly? I would think that if my wheel was too much smaller there would be a large gap between the compressor housing and the wheel...would that be bad? Sorry for all the questions, I really would like to use this housing though since over the winter I have plans for more boost and dont want to run into surge. Thanks.

it wont work.... too much of a gap. and you dont need the anti surge.... all it does it cause to turbo to flow less, produce less power and sound cooler when it spools... just stick with your current housing, youll be fine and wont run into surge

andy, needs more EMS before turbo mods. get turbo to run 20+psi and you won't care about that housing anymore
