I have been considering switching to a back door setup for my new turbo kit i'm putting together. Any benefits to these over traditional intercoolers, other than less IC piping to route. Also what's the reason for having the BOV welded on to the intercooler core rather than the regular spot near the throttle body?

besides having much less piping to worry about one advantage of the backdoor setup is how the hot side charge pipe gets positioned it makes it much more difficult for it to blow off under boost

there are 2 schools of thought:
1 on the end tank, let the pressure out at the source.
2 let the pressure out at the obstruction.
i think they work either way. but with it on the intercooler, one less thing on the charge pipe to get in the way.

does it affect the BOV's reaction time when you let off the throttle? I always heard you need to have the BOV about 8in from the TB.
