Default Mounting BOV on intercooler? Why or Why not?

I've been researching turbo setups and I've seen that on a lot of Supras using fmic's and on C Jackson's CRX, they mount the bov. What's the advantage of this versus mounting the bov conventionally (on the charge pipe near the throttle body)?

I've tried searching this, but I can't find info about this anywhere.

If you look at Full-Race's turbo kit, it uses the same BOV placement---on the intercooler hot side. From what Geoff and others have said, it alleviates boost the same as on the chargepipe with the standard BOV placement, only here is expells unwanted boost before it is wasted going through the intercooler.

Basically, it saves the intercooler from wasting cooling the compressed air only to have it dumped beofre the throttlebody---I hope that makes sense.

Before the intercooler core is the optimal place for it, but having it after the intercooler core won't create a measurable diffrence.
