okay.. im not really a newb to turbo or built motors or anything.. i just had a question...
my buddy just bought a fully built b20 bottom end with gsr crank eagle rods and je 9.5:1 pistons, i helped put the motor together it runs great.. but it has a ls head on it.. and my friend that bought the motor wants to take his b16 apart and put the vtec head on it with the golden eagle conversion kit and arp headstuds, then use his b16 tranny..
the motor is a 99 japanese b20b everything is balanced and weighed each cylinder piston and rod weight is within a gram of each other
all i wanted to know, anybody know what kind of power it should make with a t3/t4 .57 or is that going to be a big enough turbo.. its mostly gonna be for drag racing.. some street use... probably going to shoot for the 450whp range so im gonna use 1000cc injectors..
ive searched for this setup.. but most b20v's have the b20 crank.. havent seen much with a gsr crank and rods...
whats your opinion on this setup.. right now it has a stock ls head

for 450whp or so on pump gas, I would use something a bit larger than the 57 "trim". Though they CAN reach that power, they are extremely stressed at that point. There are several Garrett & BW alternatives to use, even if you want to see T3

thats what i figured... what about a t3 60-1 ... im pretty informed on turbo sizing, i just dont know how big of a turbo you need to make over 400whp... turbo lag isnt going to matter that much.. just as long as its not that bad so it still can be street driven..
what about the setup? does that sound pretty good for that amount of hp.. its gonna go into a 92 cx hatch thats gutted..hoping to hit low 11's... if lucky high 10's
