Default B20b vtec turbo setup

Hey guys, first post here. I have a bone stock b20b block with b18c vtec head. I want to put on a small eBay turbo.
I plan on running 5-8 psi max but my boss seems to think the piston is gonna blow at 8 psi, I’m really only shooting for about 250whp. Is 8 psi too much? He also said even 5psi wouldn’t be reliable.

2000 civic coupe with gs-r trans if it helps

Rods and rod bolts will be your first limiting factor before the pistons. Keep the RPM at stock.
PSI is relatively irrelevant without knowing what turbo you're pairing it with. 250WHP is reasonable.
You'll need to upgrade your radiator, and obviously get a tune/clutch/injectors/etc.
