Default b20b or b20z??

ok as i was told the b20b block has a lower compression then the b20z....correct me if im wrong....and normally if you would go with a turbo set up you would want lower compression right??...and for lower compression i would want the b20b ??...different ppl keep on telling me different things...reason imaskin is because i want to run a b20 block with a type r head and then tubo it...and a b20b block is alot easier and cheaper to come by then the b20z....i was gonna get new rods and pistons anyways and i was told that even if i do that the b20b block is built differently then the b20z and would not be able to handle much and that it would give on me...could anyone tell me the facts on this thing so i could hurry and pick up a block...and finish my project...thanx

All I know is the Z has better base line numbers, some have said the heads are shaped different, but you dont care - if you are sleeving and using another head and rods and pistons it doesnt matter if you use B18B, 20B or the Z, choose any bore you want

they're the same thing, unless you're reffering to the USDM b20b...the JDM b20B is the same as the USDM b20z

get b20z it has knok sensor that b20b doest have
b20b 8.8.1
b20z 9.6.1 that is still very frendly FI
but if you change piston y you care about compression?
get b20z
