b20/vtec turbo build, couple questions
Hey just building up my b20/vtec after going through the whole sleeve cracking issue. I have a tuned ecu for 12psi and on the dyno im putting down 312whp. So basically im building the same setup and going with my old tune except now I have golden eagle sleeves. My question is I tried searching about whether I need a block girdle and I couldnt find a HP rating, most people just said unless your reving over 8500 rpm you dont need it but at what amount of whp would you need a girdle? Also if I am going with an 85mm bore what is the best headgasket to use since honda only goes to 84mm? Final question sorry....I have golden eagle rods and have heard the horror stories but are they good enough if I only plan on running between 300whp and say 400whp?
Thanks all sorry for the long painful post

you should run a honda gasket, we over bore them and we have 85mm bore in stock , also there eagle rods not golden eagle rods and the new eagle rods are fine, we have boosted 30 psi on them and made well over 600 hp no problems

the new rods are 3/8 bolts and we have made over 800 hp with no girdle so you should be fine but if you want a girdle we have them in stock
