Boring out my B20
Alright so I FINALLY went out and bought a B20. Took me a while to figure out what I wanted but I have it now, so there's no turning back. Here's the deal and why I need opinon's on it. I'm "aiming" for 650+ whp on trick fuel and will be running a decent amount of boost (probably 20-30 psi on a T4) on this block.
I'm sending it out to Golden Eagle to get God Zilla solid deak sleeve's, Eagle H-beam rod's, Arias 9.0:1 piston's, OE seal's and main bearing's, and OE journal's. They are going to assemble the motor including balancing the crank/rod's, all for a really good price.
My question was about boring the motor, I wasn't sure how big I could (or should) really go? I think going out to a 2.2L would be killer, but I've had alot of people telling me that I could & should go bigger. Just let me know what you thnk.
Or if anyone of you have done it, and what your experiances where.. thanks..

Re: Boring out my B20 (Fo-Do Fanatic)
Once you start increasing displacement (to this extent), you start seeing issues with rotating mass (having too much). People are making 600whp on 1.6L's, so the only real reason to go 2.2L is if you absolutely need that extra spool time or low-end torque [for the street].

I dont know who u are taking advice from, but i would stop.
Ur not really gonna get a B biger than 2.2 at the most.
An engine that big and then adding alot of boost is gonna be tough.

If I were you I'd ask myself if I was ready to go the extra mile with suspension before I added that much displacement. I'd stick with 2.0L's and use a werked head to help with spool time and peak power. Screw the stroked crank and bore, you'll be asking for terrible longevity w/ that kinda boost. Plus, with a T4 + 2.0L you should see 300WTQ w/ pump gas, and 400 or better w/ race gas and high boost. my 2 cents.
