Default B18C1 temp sensor question

I have an AEM water temp sensor and I was wondering if I can use the port on the back of the block here. Where is everyone getting there water temp from?

I thought most people just drill/tap the thermostat housing?

I used a fitting in the side of the head, but I don't use the OEM dash anymore. It was originally the temp sensor for the dash cluster.

Not sure if where u picked would work or not. What I did was tapped the bleed thing on the thermostat housing. All u gotta do is drill so the tip of the sensor will go the whole way in. And the threads r almost exactly the same (atleast with my defi sensor) I ran a tap in twice and she's tight as can b. hope this helps.

Temp sensors are traditionally installed in the cylinder head as the coolant temps are always higher there. I personally prefer getting it from the head myself - better accuracy.

Yeah... I was answering the dumb n00b that bumped it. Either way this should be locked.
