Default B18c1 engine rebuild options

I'm planning the turbo installation on march 13th (finally) & this winter im planning on rebuilding the motor, because of its age. I just hit 152k miles a few days ago. fortunately the motor is still in great shape for its age. back at 149k miles i had a compression & leakdown test done & the results were 185 190 190 190 & the leakdown was between 6-9% in all four cylinders.

as far as building the motor, i dont really want to sleeve it. im not planning on building a huge 500hp beast. i just want a fast reliable daily driver while i build my next project car.

so im thinking:

arias 9.5:1 pistons
GE rods
STR blockguard

along with micropolishing the crank, etc., etc., that goes along with rebuilding the motor.

another question i have, is: Do the cylinders have to be rebored to a larger size? someone told me that the cylinder walls must be rebored & honed to a larger size(along with matching size pistons) because stock size pistons wont seat. is this correct? im kind of a n00b when it comes to motor building, so please pardon my ignorance bordering on stupidity

No ignorance or stupidity yO. Evrerybody has got to start somewhere, so let me be the first to give you some advice, make SURE you find a good machinist. The first guy I let hone my block when I was all motor fucked it up and after rebuilding it smoked like a chimney under hard acceleration.

Usually, the cylinder walls need to be at least honed(just basically resurfaced), but sometimes need to be bored(if the walls are bad enough, they need to increase the size, like .25mm more, or in my case, 81.5mm). Good luck.....
