Default b18c 400-450hp

Hi im currently deployed in iraq and i try searching for an answer for the question i have but i cant seem to find it. I want to get around 400-450hp put of a b18c(gsr) engine. i plan on building the bottom end, hoondata s300,fuel pump and bigger injectors. I was wondering to get 400-450hp do i have to sleeve the engine off or is it ok with the stock ones on there.

I would at least put a block guard in. Not that it will help a poor tune but that little added support is worth it in my eyes.

that amount of power has been achieved by several people with stock sleeves in a b18c. no need for block guard, i mean come on, they're like so 1998!

That amount of power has also been achieved by several people with stock sleeves AND stock internals. It's all in the tune.

Yes, if you want the block to be reliable at 400-450whp you had better get it sleeved.

there is a grain of truth to that, but it is by no means necessary...i wouldnt think twice about making that kind of power on stock sleeves...they'll handle it

Dude what exactly are you saying here, sounds contradictory...

"I wouldn't think twice about making that kind of power on stock sleeves"...does that mean you wouldn't run 400-450hp on stock sleeves???

"they'll handle it"...or does it mean that you would???

just slap a golden eagle block gaurd in it and a cometic head gasket and boost that ****! everyone has there opinions but if your not boring it and you use a block gaurd than it should be good with a good tune. go for 400 not 450 though.

I've been doing it for over a year now and I daily drive it AND I have more torque then a b18C so I stress the internals even more. Stock sleeves, not stock internals.

I tuned a car a few years back at 430ish HP and it's still running strong, daily driven like mine too. The sleeves will handle it. They are weak if the tune is bad, that's all

i thought my wording made sense, but Mike makes it sound a little clearer i think.

"I would have absolutely no problem running a stock sleeved, built piston/rod engine at 400-450whp"

Why do people always add that they are deployed in iraq? What does that add to your post? Should be respond quicker because of that...?

"I just left Iraq because I don't belong there"...now that's a better phrase to start off with.

DICK! answer the question, nothing more. since you have just left there then you would know that you can spend hours online. so he may want someone to answer his question before has to log off the computers in the MWR. he may not be able check for another couple of days. i wouldnt want to be thinking of the same question for 2 or 3 days without an answer.

typing "400" into the search fields gave 85 results in less than 10 seconds.

ok.....and? yeah he coulda searched but he didnt. he wanted some opinions. how hard would it have been for you to read his question and hit the backspace button instead of being a dick and typing out a long message to try make someone feel dumb?

For the sole fact that anyone else asking that question would have gotten crap, but he think he gets special priority because he's in iraq...when he shouldn't even be...different topic....

How are would have it been for him to hit search instead of us having this stupid thread everyweek...

Stock sleeves are plenty fine for that horsepower.

invest in a good tune and fuel setup.

Well i dont expect to get any special attention to the question i asked. I dont think some people know how much time you get out here online. i get 10mins max, because you have a **** load of other soldiers trying to go online. Not only i have to try and search/read what i get i have to check my email from back home.Im sorry for not having the privelege of searching all day to find an answer.Im on missions all day, working 16hrs or better so im dead tired when i get off, than to try and go on the internet to check some things is hard because all i want to do is sleep.I dont know why people have to leave negative replies but hey that s your opinion.for the people that did respond i greatly appreciate your help and atleast i know there are some good people left in this world.i wont be posting on this site knowing even though your away in a war that you dont want to be in that theres still people out there that wont help you. you guys take care.
