im sry if this sounds dumb and all, i mean i understand what bore and stroke is, but how do u make the stroke longer? is it possible, or are u just asking something totally different..

larger crankshaft stoke=more displacement

Yea get a "wider" crankshaft so that the bottom of the rod moves farther out to the sides. It'll increase displacement and make the piston move down farther, and increase torque, but a negative is that it'll put more stress on the sidewalls.

you can probably go bigger but that would require even more custom work

you can only get so much displacement by sleeving and overboring. throw in a big stroke and you've got yourself a 2.1-2.2L

95mm is pretty normal and completely safe on a b18. if you go dart tall block, i heard of people running 105mm stroke.

so is it better increasing the bore, or the stroke?

If you want to get technical, increasing bore doesnt affect R/S ratio.

boring to 85mm puts you at ~2L without messing with the revvability of the engine

plus one...You decrease the wall thickness youre definately playing around with its revvability

Nobody said it did. Increasing stroke does. But with increasing the bore, you have to worry about too thin of sleeves.

It doesn't necessarily drop until you go past a point where it would start cracking sleeves. I'm not an engine builder or anything so I couldn't say what that point is, but that's the jist of it.
