B18B Turbo question?
Aright Im looking to make under 300 bhp (at the motor), or in the area of 250 whp on a late 90s b18b with a t3/t4. Will the stock internals do ok, this will be my daily driver, I had in mind cams suited for turbo like the crower stage II turbo cams, as well as a good fuel management system. Will my internals be ok?
We've done 315whp on a stock LS bottom end. Engine has almost 80 dyno pulls, two track events, and three months of daily beatings. This is with AEM, so don't try it withought proper tuning.
There are plenty of threads about this, do a little more searcing to learn more.

I am a HUGE believe in the strength of the LS w/ stock internals now. I built a hatch 1.5yrs ago and tune it on 10psi w/ Hondata and a safe tune. The car ran 111mph in the 1/4 and pulled even harder than that on the highway(tire spin in the 1/4 hurt my trap, feathered through the 1/8th). Anyways, I thought the internals were going to take **** on me, didn't want the expense, sold the car to a friend. He has since turned the boost up to 13psi and daily drives it. He retuned with Uberdata, the car is still running perfectly today w/ perfect compression. Had I known it would run this well and handle the power this well, I might have kept it. LS gets a

I ran over a year with no major problems. all stock. Then I turned to boost up to 16 on stock internals. I saw others do it, but I wasn't so lucky. Popped 5 mins after the dyno, I was street tuning. BTW i had hondata. Run a nice number like 10-12psi and you have a healthy motor, w/ expertise in tuning you can last a long time. good luck, search under me I have tons of stuff on here about Ls turbo, from over 2 years ago.

thanks guys, im excited to get started, and 16 psi is pretty crazy, I dont think Id run more than 10 in the 1st gen crx and probably daily drive it on 7-8? It probably wont get any kind of traction with that power anyway...

I'm crazy
Me and my buddies were trying to press the envelop. See what the treshold was on stock motors. Some people are still running 16psi...

He probably hasn't blown it because boost is a relative term. You shouldn't be looking at how much boost a motor can hold, but rather how much power. Because technically I could be running 15psi on my turbo while someone else is running 10psi but making more power because either a. they have a bigger turbo or b. their's is tuned better.

I agree but if you check his sig it says he made 311 at the wheels, that is impressive on the stock block no matter how big or small boost and turbo your running
the 311whp in my sig is not from 21psi. As you can see from my sig I rebuilt the engine to stock and I was trying to blow the motor. I was testing how good my first build was. The motor is still running. The compression numbers are the same as the day I first cranked the car. this is a daily driver. since the build the motor has seen over 80 dyno runs(l was messing with all the aem ems functions and trying new things), it has over 40 passes doing a street tune( adjusting A/F, boost settings, gear ratio tables, and more), I've driven to GA for VA 2 times, I raced the car at battle of the imports in MD, and I've put over 1K miles on it daily driving. I've also a sc-61 on it and boosted over 20psi to see how much power it would me. I did a compression test 2 days ago and its still perfect. at idle i'm pulling alittle over -9psi at vaccum. I'm done trying to blow the motor. I'm taking it out in a few weeks. I have another setup I'm going to do. Its going to be a fun daily driver when I'm done.
