b16b supercharged?
Back in 97, my stock jrsc B18c made 218whp@ 6 psi non-intercooled. I was also running consistent 13.5's @ 105mph on street tires.
I had fun with roots blowers for many years, and beat most cars I came across on the street, because you can put the power down so easy. Now I spin rediculosly and make everyone on the road think I'm a Madman

It is missinformation as <U>it is incorrect</U>...
If it is your 1st hand experience then you can't tune. If it is 3rd persion experience then they can't tune... My entire post was talking about pump gas stock timing, standard timing retard .5/psi (in vtec and intercooled).
I'm not hear to argue with you; mysetup speaks for itself.
As an asside: Dynapacks read 5-7% higher not 15-20%.
</TD></TR></TABLE>
its cool im not argueing either (were having a friendly debate
)
i was not the one tunning but what you say does make sense, i would imagine most shopts tunners are far more competant tuning turbos than blowers just due to the amount of experience they have with them.
on a side note my claim was also assuming it was non-intercooled since thats what most people run with there jrsc set ups. im not surprised at all to see you were able to make a ton more power with the addition of an intercooler, that must of been one fun car to drive
ill pm you about the dyno thing just so we stay on topic.

In your case, it comes down to whether you value everyday driveability or absolute top end power. A JRSC will help a B16 feel more like a larger displacement engine in and around town and it'll feel good to put down that power instantly. But I wouldn't road race a turbo B16. If you value road racing/track more, go a turbo route.
If I eventually relegate my DD to a track only car, I'll take out the JRSC and drop in a turbo. Until then, a roots type blower FTW in any stop-and-go traffic.

Road race is different from street race, get a turbo, and don't street race.
But seriously why boost a B16B? That's a great NA motor, those things sell for big $ to the all-motor people. Sell it and have enough $ for a B16a and a nice turbo setup, plus a B16a would be better for turbo.

You are such a ******* moron. I was trying to be nice earlier when you felt compelled to demonstrate your ignorance about superchargers as if it were the wisdom of Solomon, but I'm getting pretty sick of you acting like you know what the expletive you are talking about.
Here's a rundown on just how much of a ******** you are (in no particular order):
1 - Check hmotorsonline or pretty much anywhere for the price difference between a B16a and a B16b swap. (Hint, it's thousands of dollars). I have a B16a short block sitting in my office that I bought for $50 in rebuildable condition. A friend of mine offered me one that he had laying around (bearings were shot, needed a rebuild) when he heard that I was looking for one, B16a's are just that cheap. Find me a $50 B16b short block you ******* idiot.
2 - So a K24A1 is a great NA motor? It is a "dohc vtec honda motor". Wrong again Captain ********
3 - I don't give a expletive what motor you have. I was addressing the original poster, not you. Going forward, if I am addressing you, then I will preface my remarks with "Hey, ********".
4 - All B16's have dual intake valve springs, straight from Honda. The single exhaust springs work fine, you don't need to rev the **** out of it if it's boosted. B16a cams suck, but a set of GSR cams (which are great for boost) costs $50-$75, and an aftermarket intake manifold costs about $100, although people make >400WHP on the stock IM and TB, so why bother. Lower R/S ratios make more power, and I can't even believe that you'd cry about how low the R/S ratio is on a B16a, you are truly an idiot. The heads are the same castings, and a few hundred worth of valve seat and bowl work will make the B16a head flow more than your precious ported B16b head. The OP wants to street race and go to the drag strip, if he gets some good slicks or DR's, then he won't be at any disadvantage with an open differential (go ask why in the drag racing forum if you're too stupid to figure it out).
You forgot to mention the compression ratio, which will make him knock-limited on anything much over 10 PSI of boost, and that's being optimistic. I ran a 12.4:1 motor on 93 octane pump gas and got to find out all about that.
In conclusion, you have no ******* clue. You post in a thread asking about supercharging with a bunch of heresay bullshit, and when others give an opinion that differs from yours, you come back with even more bullshit.
P.S. - Go eat a dick.
P.P.S. - Don't bother replying on my account, Im unsubscribed, bye everyone, and GL to the OP with whatever you do, but really, don't street race.

Wow you guys are getting into it. Ok I have a question I also have a B16b with a JRSC, what psi will it make on a 4.2 pulley? I want to run very minimal boost 4-5psi. Will the 4.2 pulley put me in that range?
