If you wern't a noob and had done your research you wouldn't be asking us a hugely vague question like this.

would you guys get off his back? I thought this was a cool forum..What's the big deal of asking about what we think about which turbo he should get? how's that a HUGE question..It seems to me that he already has his plans and wants to see what other people thought.

You don't have a lot of room to play with in that CRX, but toss on a T3/T04E with an exhaust a/r of .63 and you'll be fine. When you want to start making mad hp and boost 20+ then step up and get a full T4.

Hey thanx man. I dont know how much boost that can handle. My plans have changed as of late. I am now getting a b16A 1st generation. And I need a turbo that can handle up to 20 psi? Any idea on best turbo for this application??
Thanks guys!

ahhaa, thats the funniest thing i read all day.
i really dont think this kat knows what he is gettin into, wants to run 15-20 psi on a b16.. 1st gen
before you comit suicide go take a peek around on the forums and see what other people hae on their rides that allow them to run
15-20 psi safely.
you will end up spending a good amount of cash to make it be fast and reliable.

nah man dont listen to these haters, what you need is a t76(turbo) run that **** at 30 psi but one thing you will have to do it raise the redline so you will be able to spool it up all the way but dont worry b16s love to rev and you can get the chips on ebay just look for the ones that remove the revlimiter. hope this helps

easy on the poor guy
go with a t3/t04e with like a .63 A/R and you will like it unless you go crazy and pick up a sc61 T4 then you are talking
but make your goal realistic it dont take alot of hp to make a light car like that fast
think about it as power to weight ratio and go from there

Re: What turbo should i use for 15-20 psi on my b16a? (CRX TypeR)
hp goals are more important than psi. I would figure out how much you want to spend first, then pick a reasonable hp goal, then begin to see what you might be interested in.

Re: What turbo should i use for 15-20 psi on my b16a? (bottlefedb18c1)
is this a built motor??? 15-20 psi can be pretty unreliable on a stock block, but if its built, a sc61 will prolly make the most power. check out precision turbo, their stuff is the ****!! i gotta a smaller t3/t4 and it makes some GOOD power. enough to satisfy me.... for now

Re: What turbo should i use for 15-20 psi on my b16a? (-TRINiTRON-)
I am willing to spend whatever it takes to get the best turbo for this. But the max boost I want is 20psi. I will have a built block an upgraded head. including, but not limited to, pistons, new rods, valves, retainers, cams, head studs, and possibly a 3mm headgasket. Overall, I plan to spend on upgrading the motor and turbo setup; about 4-5K. I know of some good deals around here
Everyone thanks fro the advice, but I know how much im plan to spend, BTW this is the first time I hear of a sc61 turbo. Can someone give me a link to a website or something? How much boost can a T4 handle guys?

Re: What turbo should i use for 15-20 psi on my b16a? (CRX TypeR)
sorry but i don't think your being realistic. You only want to spend 4-5k on your motor and turbo setup. Add up the parts and you'll be well over that. A lot of guys here have spent that much on just the turbo setup alone. Also don't just ask what turbo will be good for 20lbs. That's a vague question. How much power are u tryin to make is a better question.

a sc61 is a precision turbo and it is one of the best for the money and i only heard of good from them
i owned one but i sold it due to money reasons
Rod over at precision turbo said i will get peak hp out of that turbo at about 28-32 psi but it comes alive at like 12 psi and goes up from there
it is the turbo i am going to be going with over winter
and if you have pistons and rods why you using a thinker head gasket unless you have higher then say 9:1 comprestion pistons
please explain you hp goals it will make it easier to go though when you have that accomplished
