b16a2 intake manifold question

Default b16a2 intake manifold question

i had a question about which intake manifold it was that bolts right on to a b16a2. was it a gsr manifold or a type r manifold? someone help me out.

I am almost sure that the type R is compatable. The B16A2 and the type R utilize alot of the same part numbers as well.

B16A, B16B, B17A and B18C5 all share the same bolt patter as far as the intake manifold.

the type-r is what your looking for. They will bolt on just the cooling passage is different. (someone correct me if im wrong on the last part)

You can use the TypeR intake manifold.

yes, there is a coolant passage that you have to block off if you are going to be putting it on your B16. Its going to be on cylinder #4 runner and you can prolly just get yourself a vacuum niple, stick it on and then tighten it on with a small hose clamp. If you are going to be running a turbo with water cooling, you can use this passage to feed the turbo and then tap back into the throttle body water line.

The only problem I had was that the Idle air control valve hade one diffrent bolt.. But I just welded a pice of aluminum and threded a hole in it so i could attach the valva correctly.. That was for euro spec ITR and b16a2 anyway but Ithink it´s the same on US models..

If your motor is from a 99 Civic Si, your IACV will hook directly up to the TypeR one.
