Default b16a w/ turbo or bigger engine na

Im looking to swap the engine out of my 95 civic, but i cant decide if i should get a b16a with a turbo, or if it would be better to get something like a b18c. I know how much the engines cost, and turbo kits, but i know there is a LOT more **** to get with a turbo like timers and intercooler and all that. about how much does it cost to turbo a car including the turbo kit itself? any input welcome thanks

well, a complete kit w/management and EVERYTHING is about $4k. GSR swap is $3500 or so. OK, so $7500. Then, building the block, rods, pistons. Then the head. Thatll eat up the rest of the $2500 very quickly. This of course is if you do it RIGHT the first time, thatll hold boost well, etc.
My first turbo, I had $500 invested into the whole setup. It held up fine...

A rev hard kit. And don't boost in fifth gear .

It's more than just saying "ok, but what all do you need to get to run a turbo well?"
It's alot involved. Start searching and finding out what worked best for people in turbo's and swaps.

i get what you're saying, but i know that there are certain things you need to buy along with a turbo. thats what im asking. i dont know much about boosting a car, and im trying to get a basic idea of what all i need, thats all.

FI and N/A are as different as night and day. It's all about preference, you want to rap out to high rpm with minimal torque, or do you want to give up some rpm's and have good torque/powerband. An n/a motor sucks in it's own air while a boosted motor gets compressed air crammed down it's throat. If you are planning to build up the motor if you go n/a IT IS NOT CHEAP, it's actually cheaper to go turbo. I've seen $13k spent on a n/a motor that ended up putting down 205whp and 150wtq. So pick your poison, to learn about what what all is involved in a turbo setup search you brains out.

yea, im thinking maybe a b18c engine and turbo. id rather have some good power and torque then be running to redline every gear. im trying to search for the answers im seeking, but im still not positive on everything i need for a turbo to run. is there any sites that explain what all you need? do you just need the kit and an intercooler? i know it seems like im not looking for myself but i am. but thats for the help so far guys, ill keep searching

From what I understand, you'll need...

1) turbo
2) turbo manifold
3) all the piping from the intake to the intercooler to the filter
4) blowoff valve
5) intercooler
6) silicone tubing with an ID = OD of your piping
7) Aircraft style clamps for the silicone tubing (won't cut the silicone)
8) Fuel management, be it rising-rate, Hondata, ZDyne, AEM EMS, etc etc
9) Upgraded fuel delivery system - remember the pressure in the manifold forces fuel back into the injectors; you see a pressure drop under boost. So 45psi in the fuel line at 10psi boost becomes 35 psi in the fuel line, effectively (am I right on this point?)
10) Oil feed line and oil drain line for the turbo
11) Return line feed tapped into the drainpan somewhere
12) Water line if you're running a watercooled turbo center section

I think that's it... I'm also trying to figure this out and have little experience in turbos so don't take what I've written as law
