I have searched for this, but my application will be a little different...so here goes.

I have a stock B16 with a b18 head and GSR cams with the head shaved some. Don't know exact compression ratio, but estimated around 11:1.

I am wanting to turbo the motor towards the end of the summer and was wondering if anyone had any experience with about 10 PSI with VP c16 or c23? My dad ordes the 55 gallon drum of this stuff for his car so I will have access to it. My car will be primarily racetrack use. I guess I am just asking a general noobie question and wondering with a professional tune, with injectors, fuel pump, etc. what kind of maximum power could I go on the stock bottom end? I will probably go with a t3/t4 (nothing fancy) The bottom end now seems to be relatively sound.

Also, debating whether or not just to spray it. I like the fact that turbo is a little more forgiving if you are off on tune a tad. Thanks in advance.

I did a search with stock b16 block and it seems that a lot of people are achieving 300 on 93, so I suppose that it would be pretty reliable running a mix of c16 or c23 with 93. Well, not reliable...but you know what I mean.

How much was milled of the head? With an all OEM bottom end and just a B18C1 head on it, compression is bumped up to 10.4/5 to one with an OEM 3 layer HG. The higher you go on compression, the less forgiving a motor is to boost. You have a very small tuning window to make it safe and live so you may be better of starting from scratch with the bottom end if you don't know how much was taken off the head.

I am by no means an expert but have boosted quite a few cars and that is one thing I have learned from killing a couple. If you don't have the time and the money to make it perfect, make it low compression. Your engine will thank you when it lives a long time.

I appreciate your reply and I agree completely that the best way to do it would be to do rods, arp bolts, and pistons at least. Unfortunately, I have no idea how much the head was machined. I was told it was, so you never know if it actually was or not. If I did do bottom end, I would still like to stay around 10.1 on racegas, even though that is higher than most peoples taste.

Since you don't know for sure then, if you have the motor apart, I would do the water in the bowl from a syringe with a peice of plexi over the top trick man, stock it should hold 41.6 cc, depending on how much was taken off, your new bowl capacity will let you determine what your new compression ratio is and go from there.

I know it's not exactly what you are looking for my I am just leary of high compression boosted app's with stock bottom ends.
