B16A dyno'ed today...
I took my 95 Civic B16a to dyno tune today... the numbers are 196WHP and 150ft/lb @ 8 psi... these look like very low # compared to the ones posted in the forum... the af ratio looks like around 12 to 15... any suggestion? numbers too low???
will try to post the chart up soon...
will try to post the chart up soon...
I have a stock b16a with stock head gasket, FMAX turbo kit, MSD btm 0.5degree retard per lb boost... the af ratio starts @ 2000rpm to be ~16, then goes to @5000 ~14, then goes to @ 7000rpm ~12...
r u sure 15 is lean? I though anything >12 is pretty good...
but still, does the HP # and torque value seem low???

What EMS?
Also, being around 15:1 at crusing is acceptable... and being around 12.0:1 in boost is fine. Just because most people shoot for 14.7:1 and being .3 off isnt going to do much.
Now being off .3 under a load is a different story.

Yes 15:1 is lean. Bigger numbers aren't better when it comes to a/f ratio. Who tuned your car and told you that? Drive your car easy and stay out of boost in the meantime until you work things out because those #'s are definately low. Do you have a dyno chart with a/f plot that we could look at to help you with?
here's the dyno chart...

By the way, the blue is after tuning and the red is before tuning if you can't read the small print...
now do you think that anyone can tune this better? Too rich? too lean? maybe more power SAFELY?
OK, when you say the af is bad... can you explain what so bad about it? too lean or too rich? when and where on the rpm... what can I do to make it better? I need more explanation!!
Thanks DIRep972, these are the answsers I was looking for, constructive so I know what to do!!! I am a new user and can't post more than 5 per day... so i have to edit my previous post.... So does that mean if I keep the afr ~12.1 3.5k on... I would be safe and do you think I would get more WHP??? Hit me up with more constructive advices!!!

Sell that MF2 and get something, hell i would even reccomend Uberdata to you at this point. That has to be one of the worst graphs i have seen a/f wise. Please do yourself a favor and dont drive the car until you can get it tuned with a more proper EMS.
When you said ~15:1, i figured they just left it a tad lean outa boost for gas mileage, but after seeing it..... NO!

look like it took a **** on you on the first pull. that just doesnt look smooth at all. it probably hesistates like crazy. i hope u didnt pay to much for that "tune." i think d series turbo's make that much power. whats an mf2?? or is it an fmu and u heard wrong. if it is get rid of it and run uberdata. much better IMO

ok, judging by your torque @ 4000rpm your already getting boost.. By 4000rpm your a/f ratio should be down to 12:1. It should then carry flat all the way to redline @ 12:1 or slightly richer. All those places on your map after 4k need to come down to 12:1.. 13:1 is not acceptable.
