b16 turbo need help....
going turbo on a stock b16a2 not trying to build a race car here just a daily driver with a little sneeze.... running a t3 setup up with two head gaskets was wondering if i should go with ls pistons or should i stay with the stock ones? sorry if I seem dumb founded lol new to the turbo game.....any help would be greatly appreciated....thanks inadvance.
well stock b series internals can withstand around 300hp give or take some on different setups, but any time I have seen stock b16's with a good tune they put out 275whp pretty decently. I had a turbo b16, but didn't get to dyno it, mine had blew a ring in a week and a half. Just make sure you have a good tune and you'll be good.
If you're rebuilding it anyway, then go with the LS pistons. Otherwise use the B16 pistons until they break. I just built a B16 -w- LS pistons for boost; it's a great little street motor. I'd also skip the extra head gasket.
