Default b16 or ls/vtec for boost

i currently have a b16 in my crx. i am going turbo and was curious if i should keep the b16 and turbo it or do an ls/vtec(i have the ls block at my house)and boost that. the reason i was thinking about doing a ls/vtec was because of the b16s lack of torque. but the evetual goal is hondata, iron sleeves, pistons, rods the whole 9 yards. i wanna put the turbo on b4 i build the motor to get a better feel for tuning and such. so i just wanted to hear other peoples opinions on what i should do,b16 or ls/vtec for turbo.

definitely LS/VTEC. with just that setup, you should be in the 13's and then with a good turbo kit and some tuning, 12's will be nothing and you'll be feening for 11's.

ls/vtec!!!!!! Don't listen to what everybody tells you about r/s ratios and ****...if that mattered to much, then why mod your cars right? I'm currently occupied with a fully built ls/vtec turbo project also...

you guys, sometimes you worry me you all hav it wrong -
B16/lstec
heres what you do -
b16 block LS crank and rods, vtec head. - minor clearancing of the b16 block is needed.
you now have a 1.8L vtec motor with oil squirters and a block girdle.
do you maybe want a 2.0l LS without B20, just trow a prlude crank in it!

Turbo LS/Vtec is a wonderful combo, especially when done with a B16 head....

Keep the LS pistons and use and LS tranny...

The combo of the low compression LS pistons and the further reduction in compression from the B16 head on the LS block will have you damn close to the 9.0:1 CR
Run a thicker head gasket too... The torque of the LS/vtec alone will keep you fast in the low end too TORQUE is a wonderful thing

You'll have a 13 sec car easy, and 12's with proper tuning...

Just remember, a turbo LS/vtec is hard to build, somewhat costly and you NEED a good engine tuner.....

Good Luck!

LS/VTEC for boost works good. Just use a B16 head (lower compression than GSR).

You have no idea what your talking about. People come here for help, and your just contributing to the mass of mis-information that is already out there.
