Default b16 jackson power?

how much hp and tq would a b16 (stock) with a jackson supercharger put down? and what would the 1/8th mile times look like in a 92-95 civic hb?

thanks

Back on topic...

Most JRSC'd setups are limited by two factors:
1. The JRSC can only spin so fast due to gear ratio on the pullies
2. The JRSC is not intercooled and higher IATs require higher octane fuels.

Power output is going to be determined by a combination of supporting mods, which pulley you're running, fuel grade, tuning and static compression ratio. Similarly, there are a lot of variables with 1/4 mile times. Bottom line, the JRSC wont get you over 300whp...determine your times from that.

BTW, a turbo setup is a much better option

how does the gear ratio affect the jackson? i though it was full time power. does this mean that longer gears would help?

The gear ratio i was speaking of, was that between the crank pulley and the supercharger pulley. It has nothing to do with the gearing in the transmission. I feel that, unless you're getting a stellar deal on this JRSC, a turbo setup would be a much better option. B16's need something that can keep up through redline and continue making power along the way. Look at this graph of a JRSC overlayed with a simple Drag kit:

im just scared or the idea of tuning a turbo car. i have alot to learn. lol. plus this would be my only car. but the jackson is over priced so i will think about it. is the compress of a b16 safe for a turbo set up running around 6lbs?

as long as you tune it and dont abuse the **** out of it 8 to 10 is def safe if your motor is in good shape

Boost pressure alone does not mean anything. I tell people this all the time, yet everyone still limits themselves in terms of PSI.

The static compression of the B16 is a little high; however, that merely limits the amount of power you can make on a certain fuel grade. For example, i boosted my stock internal GSR on 91 octane and made 315whp. That's more than any JRSC will net...

yes, but with a properly sized turbo setup, you would make more power all around than a JRSC

No, realistically $1000 will not buy you all the necessary parts you need to have a safe reliable turbo setup. Having said that, you might be able to piece together a system for the much money, but it will never be reliable. Have a look through the sponsor FS sections here on H-T and talk to different vendors about your wants/needs and then go from there. I really hate to come off as a jerk, but $1000 won't buy much of anything when it comes to a well put together setup

i was afraid of that. if im going to do it i want it to be done right. i will continue to save money and learn as much as i can. this turbo stuff isnt something you can jump into blindly if your as broke as me. lol. what if i was to practice on my d15b7 with junk yard parts? (hf mani, eclipse intercooler, ect...) what parts would be best to use?

That sounds like a great idea I learned so much from my first turbo setup, even though all the parts were junk. Plus, a D15B7 with a turbo setup will net you close to what you could make with a JRSC'd B16.

i have an ls/vtec with 12.5:1 compression using b16a pistons and a cut head. the build started as all-motor, for that reason i have skunk2 stage 2 cams in there now.

i then got a jackson for really cheap....so i decided to through it on.

i run a b20 crank pulley using a b16 kit, which gives me 10 psi. the combo i got so far only gave me 235 to the wheels with no water injection and 91 pump gas. it makes about 150 tq at the wheels at about 2500 rpm and it keeps making power to 9500 rpm. the peak was at 8900 i think because of the cams.

i will be trying out ITR cams which will give me less overlap, i think they will make more power...if the motor lasts that long lol
