I've got a lot of build up on my head, as you can see in the picture below. I was running e-manage before, and i'll be running Vi-Pec this time, but is the build up just due to shitty tuning from e-manage? Also, what's the max hp someone has ran on stock b16 springs, retainers and cams? I was hoping for 325 WHP reliably. The car is not a DD, and is used only in the summer.

ya, that's what I was thinking also. I'm pretty sure e-manage is auto tuned very rich, so people don't blow their cars up. Would this carbon build up dissapear once I get the car re-tuned a lot better using vi-pec?

Well, I'm almost 100% sure that greddy's pre tuned e-manage system's are tuned very rich. Which makes sence, but can cause a lot of build up. Ya, they do look a little hotter. I did a compression test before I took the motor apart, and it was almost perfect. Could anyone tell me if this carbon build up will get better once the car is re-tuned using an actual good tuning software like Vi-Pec.

damn. I was looking at only 315 whp until I get my springs, retainers and cams installed. Then go for 350 whp. Anyone tell me what tranny is in a 99 civic SiR? Also, does it have an LSD already in it?
should be an b16 s4c. and should be stamped if its got lsd, most honda trannys are. if you cant tell, you can jack it up and spin the wheels. should spin the same direction if it does.
i made 351 wheel uncorrected on it. it was a little cold out tho. 56*

Gotcha. Only thing I need to finally put the car back together is a bigger rad, and a new fan. Anyone have any suggestions as to where I could get both? Or should I just stick with the stock ones?

haha, alright thanks. Rarely get's about 30 C here, so I'm sure it will be fine. With a slimmer fan, i'm hoping I can fit a filter right on the turbo itself. Try and save some room.
