Default B16 Build

alright well to start i got a bone stock b16a2 with a greddy turbo kit. so far all i've got installed a greddy front mount intercooler, e-manage, 330 cc injectors and the turbo itself. now i haven't put it on the dyno but i'm gonna say a hp estimate would somewhere around 210-215 whp at 6 psi. now what i want is to get it pushing 275-300 whp. i've got a manual boost controller ordered and the e-manage timing harness so i can tune it properly. what else should i look at doing as far as motor wise? head gasket and head studs i know but what else? intake manifold? pistons?

i don't need to rebuild the motor i just need to know what i NEED to look at replacing so i don't scatter my motor all over the highway.

Some colder plugs? An upgraded fuel pump and a fuel pressure regulator? If all that is in place you just need a good tune. You should be able to make that power easily and reliably on your B16. Just make sure your valve-train is in good shape. If you're not going to rebuild the engine forget about pistons and head studs. The stock should hold up but if you're going to have it apart just deburr the stock rods and maybe get the shot-peened and have the crank balanced and polished. A fresh hone and some rings wouldn't be a bad idea.

okay so fuel pump and some bigger injectors. a thicker head gasket. anything else? i want this car to be reliable and be able to take some abuse and not blow up. so all of this stuff and some more boost and a good tune and i should be good? i'd like to spend less than 2 grand so. but i'd rather spend more and make it more reliable. anyone else have any thoughts? more the better!

well it's too late to get hondata. i've got the timing harness already ordered so i'll just make it work. next time i'll definently be getting hondata. e-manage is actually a descent piggy back. had no problems what so ever. so does anyone think i need to do any internal work on my b16 other than basically a head gasket to make 275-300 whp? also i have a slight tick coming from the motor and i'm pretty sure the valve's just need adjusting. am i right?

u dont need to do anything for that power. leave it stock. figure out the ticking noise though. hard to diagnose it over the internet

don t want to break it to u
but a b16 with a greddy kit wont break 200 on a dynojet with 6psi
get a good tuner u can run a bone stock b16 with that kit and boost 18psi(if wastegate will hold)
-even with spring mod the gate won t hold 14psi (internal gate sucks)
-injectors if ur going to buy them get either 750cc sat. or 1200cc
our turbo and all motor street cars run on 1200cc idles stock..........

so at 9 or 10 psi with my greddy kit should i expect to be atleast 250+ to the wheels? also it's going to be on a mustang dyno. 18 psi on a stock b16? ya sure it would run it but for how long. i drive this car for 4 months of the year and i want it to be dependable to.
