b16 boost build
Hi,
I have a 1994 civic coupe.
1989 1st gen b16/gs-R lsd trans.
Just made 318whp & 218wtq @ 12psi in Oct.09.
Car is now stored and I purchased another block (b16)
I want 450whp+/- pump gas(94sunoco) hi boost tune.
I was thinking of getting pistons, rods, arp head studs, cometic head gasket, acl bearings & a cnc machined block guard.
Questions : Is this enough? Do I need it all? Aftermarket rods seem sooo heavy vs stock rods. I believe b16 rods stock weigh 299g and aftermarket ones weigh 510+g.
Would stock rods handle 450whp ish? I won't be reving the motor past 7,700-8,000 tops.
Head has sk2 cams, crower springs and retainers.
We did one dyno pass to 9,050rpm and the motor made peak power there and would make even more power at higher rpms... but clearly the stockish 1st gen is not built for 9k+ shifts.
Current turbo set-up :
Small piping 1.75,2.0 and 2.25" charge piping ( changing to 2.5" full charge piping )
hks bov (changin to synapse )
tial 38mm wastegate (changing to tial small vband 38mm)
t3/t4 to4e .50/.57/.63
fat runner cast manifold ( might change for a Ram Horn )
2.5" downpipe ( Custom 3" downpipe already build just have to put on )
3" exhaust
450cc dsm injectors ( will change for some 750cc+/- )
Other mods :
Walbro 255
aem fuel rail
b&m fpr and gauge
comp. stage 4 6puck clutch
8lbs fidanza flywheel
ctr crank pulley
chiped p28 on chrome pro.
Car went 13.2 @ 111mph on street tire.= 318whp
Adding 100+whp car should run flat-low 11's all day. (94 coupe)
And what would be a good slick set-up?
22x8x15? or go with some fatter 13" slicks?
