Default axle problems

Is anyone having any problems with making 350-500 WHP and breaking aftermarket axles on mostly street tires sometimes slicks? The reason I ask is my car has a 2inch race drop and I was breaking DSS stage 3 axles inners and bars.stock ITR axles where holding up better then the DSS axles. So now I am trying a set of gator HP axles and I was told that I would have to bring back to stock ride height. But I don't drag race my car that much as it is a daily driver and I don't like the look of the fourwheel drive car. That is what my powerstroke is for. Thanks for any help

<-- 366 whp and a mountain of torque on DSS Stage 3s with no problems at all. I autocross the **** out of the car and it is fine, although I don't drag race it at all.

It really depends on the angle that your axles sit at with the car being lowered. You may not have to bring it all the way to stock height, but chances are you are going to have to raise it up some. Talk to stan@fast-turbo he is sells gators and is very knowledgeable about axles and should be able to help you out. He has schooled me on them a time or two, but I'll let him get more in depth about it.

Thanks for the info.I did not have a problem with axles until the DSS axles.Had the 2inch drop with the stock ITR axles with the last setup and always did stupid **** with them.Like 2nd gear launches and dropping the clutch at 8000rpms and burn outs till 4th.I was stupid on that part but I am older now. Most of the time I was breaking them in 2-3rd and sometimes 3-4th gear with the DSS.The angle don't look too bad just slightly up but what do I know?

I'm not to experienced with the quality of the lower stage dss axles personally I run a gator axle that was only offered for a limited time. It is very similar to the stage 2 but was rated for a little more power. I have been very hard on these axles for two race seasons, but I pay close attention to my suspension (ie: ride height, ball joints, and alignment). They have been through massive burnouts and launches on 24.5" slicks at 14lbs of boost cutting 1.6 60ft's. I'm about to step up to the gator HP axles, because of a power level increase, but I dont have anything but good things to say about them.

Thats what I am going to do is give the HP axles a try.The one thing that I liked was that the stock hubs are used.Glenn told me that Cortney Green and Buck were using them and not having any problems.I replaced my upper joint because all the rain we had washed the grease out with the junk prothane boots on them.So I replaced them with factory joints and boots. The DSS axles were breaking on 22 inch slicks and 205/50 falkens. The best I could do with the 60ft was a 2.0 and still spinning past the 330ft mark.I guess that I am getting tired of spending $1000 on axles that are made to hold 550WHP and half the time I was only doin 350WHP sometime 500+.Eveybody told me that the the kaaz lsd would break before anything else would.
