That's pretty much the conclusion we came to when we started looking at traction bars. We've had no first hand experience with Avid bars, but had pretty much read the same things in the forums. We chose ETD at that time and have been using them for some time now. We are very pleased with them, enough to become distributors.
Good luck with your quest.

Re: avid traction bars...????? (tannerLSt)
Hey, tannerlst. To answer that question for you. Our older style traction bars worked great. We did however get a couple back, but out of tons of units that we have sold over the past 3 years. We obviously took care of the customers that had issues and replace it with new parts. Our products are backed by a limited lifetime warranty. Our new traction bars are better then ever. We've stepped it up to 5/8" Aurora rod ends instead of the 1/2" that most companies are using in the industry. We also us 4130 chromoly with our bars and the radius arms a made from 6061 Alcoa 1" solid. We just simply improved on our existing traction bar, we didn't go through a couple of generations like others. I hope this helps and if you have any further questions. You can PM me or call our toll free 1-866-507-2843. Thanks again for the interest.

I have run traction bars for years utilitzing the tow hook location (EG) without problems. In all motor set-ups where they are trulely putting them to the test.

Though it sounds like you have already put together what you need, you can always source the proper harware needed sepereately from the bar itself. This way you can ensure you have the correct parts to go along with your bar. You can even just purchase the newer release Pro-Series Radius arms and Heims.
