Default avc-r.......help

i did a search already....didn't find too much on my problem.

i can set it up to hold boost ok around .5 kg/cm2......and it holds good...with about .05 spiking, which isn't bad at all and i can deal with it.

if i set it to about .65 bar and try out the same thing....i get spiking up to around .8 bar, and then it doesn't seem to hold steady. I set the start duty for 2nd and 3rd (and 4th) to 7%, 10%, and 10% respectively, and that takes care of the spiking. But, when i am just cruising in that gear that usually spiked, and push it WOT, boost will only get up to around .55.

anyone have any helpful tips or suggestions about things like learn gear.....feed back speed....and start duty...?

thanks in advance.

btw this is on a d16z6....greddy kit

people have a lot of problems w/ that just because it's the greddy kit, the internal wastegate sucks on that kit. i was often spiking 3-5psi too much.

general rule of thumb:

if you're over boosting what you set your AVCR at, then your duty is too high, lower it a bit

if you're not boosting to what you should, raise the duty some.

that doesnt directly anwser your question, but might help out some members on here!

yeah....thats what i hear also

i use to have a blitz ssbc on it....it wouldn't really spike bad, but would lose a little boost in higher rpm....so i don't know if the spiking problem is the wastegate or not, just because the blitz didn't do it...

thanks for replies though.

Yes, adjust the duty cycle. whats nice w/ the AVCR is you can adjust the duty cycle per rpm, so if for some reason boost drops off on top end, you can adjust it. It takes a little while to adjust the AVCR, but once you get it how you like it, You'll love it just like me
