Default auto tranny, low boost, cooler

I'm building a turbo setup for my automatic accord...

Garrett t3/t4 w/ internal wastegate
Greddy type S BOV
Log type manifold
Custom downpipe

All my problems are financial, thats why I can't do a swap or get an intercooler.

Since I won't have an IC for a while, I was going to run it on 4 lbs of boost.

If I put in a transmission cooler, and don't do any neutral drops, and don't overwork it, will I be ok?

I know it's sucky numbers but until i get out of college I need to spend my money on my education

What else do I have to watch? How can i release the pressure out of my engine without downshifting?

I think you will be fine, like you said, just don't do any neutral drops. The power will eventually ruin the transmission, because they were not meant to take it, but @ 4lbs. of boost I doubt your going to be making that much power.

Yea i know, but i mean this is just for the summer, and maybe the next few (i'd drive it like...4 months a year max) i'm not expecting 5 more years of it, when I get a job out of college the first thing i'm gonna do is swap in a manual and be done with it...

Thanks for your help!

spend money on your education first. make a savings account or just stash some cold hard cash aside. don't boost unless you have everything. you'll be spending more cash when your transmission takes a **** on you!

Yea thats what I figured...thank GOD someone values my education haha...I wanted to go to a cheaper college so I could have more spending money, what am I thinking.

Well, I think i found a guy locally that will be able to fabricate some extra stuff I'll need, like IC piping and find me an IC to run it on, so maybe i'll be lucky...

Thanks for helping the boost n00b

I don't think the transmission cooler is a good idea unless you have instrumentation to read your fluid temps... I bet they won't be out of line. The B-series automatics are very robust, just as robust as the manual transmissions, except for the fact they run too low a fluid pressure. This allows clutches to slip under large amounts of power. I dunno your Accord's transmission's build quality, but you're probably in the same boat.

Run 4-5 psi non IC, don't flog on it too hard, and you should be fine. Get the rest of your platform together and put the work in where you need it before you up the power level.

just don't install it till you get that IC, better safe than sorry.
