Default JRSC B18C- Boost pressure not seen in MAP Sensor but Pressure seen in mech guage

Hello everyone,

I recently installed a JRSC on my 99 civic HX with a B18c (ITR) engine swap. The car is running on a P28 with Hondata S300v2, stock map sensor, wideband o2, and the base tune from Hondata with 440cc injectors w/ a JRSC B18C. Hondata intake manifold gasket from head to manifold and Hondabond at manifold to blower.

Basically, the car starts, idles, and drives fine out of boost. When I get on the gas my boost gauge shoots up to ~8psi (I have a B20 crank pulley and upgraded snout pulley). However, Smanager on the laptop does not see any boost. My a/f goes really lean during this time so I let out. I don't feel any boost and I don't hear the s/c whining. When I first started the car and revved it I could here it more. When I shut the car off I could also here it letting out pressure. I don't here that now. I'm new to s/c but not to turbo and I have also tuned a few cars so that is not new to me. My reference for boost is on the manifold side of the blower (positive). I was having some hang ups on the bypass actuator but it opens and closes when I give it throttle. Can anyone shed some light on what I need to check? Seems like if it was the seal between the blower and manifold I would have a vacuum leak as well right? Car idles fine.

sounds like its source is a vacuum only source.

Yep you are correct. My mind is used to turbo. First time doing a jrsc. I thought about it more and came to the conclusion you wrote. Basically I left that sensor in place and used a spare map sensor I had and ran a hose to it and to the manifold side of the system and everything works now. Hondata wasn't compensating for the boost Sonim lucky I didn't damage anything. Note to self don't use the throttle body map sensor on a jrsc setup lol.
