Hondata JRSC big BOOST map

Hondata JRSC big BOOST map
I know hondata and jackson racing have developed a very very good map for a high boost JRSC. I know alot of people say not to push the car until its fully tuned and I understand that. Since turbo setups have more potential (hp wise) and different turbos and everything its very hard to come up with a real good map. My question is will I be able to push my car with the JRSC big boost map? Im basically going to berunning 9psi with stepper pulley and 2.5 exhaust system and intake on my 99 gsr with stock internals. Then getting it tuned later. My tuner is like 1.5 hours away and I want to have fun with the car on way there.

Also Im hoping for 240-250whp. You guys think I should get cam gears to? Im still on stock valvetrain and have no intentions on replacing it. I think the chip was set at 8400rpm.

A friend off me is running a GSR with 11psi puley, S200b and 440cc injectors 250whp on stock engine, he only has a DC header on it.

We had major problems with the d series big boost map. It detonated like crazy. Finaly just started from scratch. I would stay out of boost till you can get it tuned properly.

Re: Hondata JRSC big BOOST map (norcalcrx)
I'm running the b16 map on my 10.8:1cr motor with 9psi, and it knocks like a **** at lower rpms. It's not the fault of the .bin though, just my desire to see what big boost and high CR will do to a motor
Bottom line?
The big boost bins are a great place to start, but your best bet is to still put some time into tuning for your application.

Re: Hondata JRSC big BOOST map (InfamousGSR)
I used the big boost map for awhile on my 98 GSR JRSC 8psi, before dyno tuning. It was a very good map and I took it easy at first while checking for signs of detonation. Retarded the timing a couple of degrees, figured it wasn't my daily driver and began to abuse the car a bit by working it hard. Showed no signs of any problems.
I did however throw a code 43 every now and again. Changed the primary O2, which didn't help. Changed to an aftermarket fuel rail regulator with a larger orifice and dialed the fuel pressure down a bit (probably due to the JR in-tank pump).
Once I solved the CEL, I took it in for dyno tuning.
The Base Big Boost Map was smoother than my FMU + bandaids. Ran cooler and had less WOT detonation while boosting in higher gears and had a baseline dyno of 219whp.

Re: Hondata JRSC big BOOST map (i2un)
Wow thats awesome, thanks for the info. Now I feel safer. How much you think I should retard timing before I start it up with the basemap?
I know the JRSC maps are good because hondata put alot of R&D into them.

You probably won't need to retard your timing at all. See what kind of detonation your getting/or not getting first. I wasn't pinging at 16 degrees of timing but I pulled three degrees just to make me feel better.
Also, I forgot to mention gas mileage was pretty bad, before I bought the fpr and dialed my static fuel pressure down to stock levels. It went from an average of 27mpg>19mpg.

Re: Hondata JRSC big BOOST map (i2un)
I figured out the other day that changing the crank pulley from a GSR to an LS is a great way to gain a couple of psi (or lose a couple, in my case).
just for future reference
