ARP head studs...overtorque them?

I step torqued my arp's on my b16 in sequence 20ft lbs,45ft lbs,68ft lbs.

i plan to retorque them after a few heat cycles.

im going in steps of 30, all the way up to 85....

i heard somewhere its a good idea to get them to their final TQ number, then loosen, and re-tighten to the same number...but wouldnt that defeat the purpose??

Sorry to bring this back up, but i was re-reading earl's motor breakin post: Left the motor run for 5-10 min, check/fix leaks, then get it on the dyno.

If youve just put the motor together, got it running with out leaks, whens the best time retorque the headstuds. Should it be done before or after tunning, or does it not matter?
