Arias Sleeves???
Has anyone ever heard of them? I haven't...
I went to my shop today and asked them about sleeving my block, and they say they have a ls block bored to 2.0 with the *new* arias sleeves.(floating iron ductile)
My shops claims they can hold ~35 psi without moving/cracking.
I was all excited that the block and sleeves, which were already machined, was only going to cost me about 800 bucks. But then they go on to tell me that i'd need a stroker kit, which would cost about 2g's. Then some 300 dollars later for labor, maching(or something, i don't remember what they said) I'd have a nice built motor. Is this a bad way of doing things?
I'd really like to know the LEAST EXPENSIVE way to build my motor, with it still being strong enough for a ~20 psi application, from a 18g.I already made the first mistake of buying a greddy kit, I just need some help in NOT making mistakes like this in the future, and overpaying. Any help's appreciated, thanks in advance.

i havent heard anything about arias sleeves before.
I would go with simple rebuild
GE sleeved or darton open deck with 81mm bore pistons
with eagle rods or probe for cost they will handle medium hp levels fine 400 range we are talking about..
There is no need for stroker kit in ls just go big bore and open it up to like 84mm if you really want but 81mm will sufice..

guessing since they have the block just lying around and no one has heard of them i would go with GE sleeves and forget the block, but then i could be wrong...
they had 2 blocks there, still all wrapped, i'm guessing they were new. But nobody has heard of this brand of sleeves before either? I just wanna make sure i'm not going crazy.
My guess is that they are sleeved by RS machines. Just because RS and Arias work closely together. $800 is a good price for a sleeved block. Ask them about any warranty over the sleeves if they do happen to drop, if they are installing everything for you.
