APEXi turbo kit
its weird cause you can buy an apexi sylvia core AND HAVE THE ENDTANKS WELDED on for around $550 but the apexicivic ic costs $750+ ??
makes no sense...

lol, the place i'm getting my Apex'I ic from is welding on cnc machined endtanks,so i know it will be nice loooking. i did hear that the Apexi ic's dont flow that great but are one of the best looking ic's out there. i'll be running low boost anyhow, i dont need every last hp.
Whether the manifold is good or not ,I think this kit is the shiznits .My friends raised the boost to 15 psi and this thing pulls like crazy , the ballbearing turbo makes it spool sooooo fast. too bad this kit doesn't offer a bigger turbo, I'm sure it would definitly be better than the drag or the rev hard .Plus you can't beat the quality of all the piping and intercooler .The kit is a little pricey though.
TurboInteg, I apologize for calling you an idiot. That was uncalled for.
However, for the D series I do think the Apexi kit has one of the best manifolds you can get since there aren't too many choices available.

Now I know this turbo is small compared to the Drag kit, but less lag is really important to me, I need the power in lower rpm ranges to keep the car quick in city traffic. But speaking of the drag kit, I know it uses a T3/T4 turbonetics turbo, but is it also available with ball bearing?
Oh, and guys, no need to argue, this is all about getting information and I appreciate all the input so far.

You can get the ball-bearing option for the Garrett, but I believe it costs $500 or more?
Another nice thing about the Apexi kit is it uses a standard IHI flange, so a future upgrade to a bigger turbo is possible.

Being able to fit a bigger turbo is a nice feature, but would the rest of the kit work properly with it? (plumbing, exhaust manifold, etc.) Aren't other kits able to upgrade to a bigger turbo? (GReddy, Drag, F-max)
AshlandSi, thanks. scorpio, if you're looking for something that will produce some low end power with quick spool up you'll definitely want to stay away from the bigger kits like Drag, revhard, etc. something like the Apex or Greddy would be more suited for you.
Piscorpio, I just noticed your signature. You have an automatic right?
You definitely don't want to go too big on the turbo, since your tranny will shift before you see boost. For your car Greddy or Apexi is the way to go, or any of the other kits with a straight T3 in place of the T3/T4 hybrid.

Thanks turbointeg95, AshlandSi, you guys have been really helpful, I appreciate it. As far as the tranny, yes it is a cursed auto. I was afraid that might effect my options here. I do have thoughts of swapping to a manual in the future, so I suppose I would have to gather my money and see what happens!
Thanks again guys, you came through with some good answers and advice when I just could not find any elsewhere!
