APEXi turbo kit
Ive been searching around for info and experience with this kit on a D16, but to no avail. Does anyone run this kit? Ive read some good things about it in SCC, but no one seems to use this kit, opting instead for the GReddy, is this a pricing issue or something else? Also, I have a 00 Civic (APEXi's kit is 92-95), so would this kit be easily adapted in the same way the GReddy kit can be? Thanks for any help you guys can give me, all info/details are appreciated.

Have you checked http://www.optauto.com they have an Apexi Kit. I believe it's just the manifold, turbo, and tubing though. Don't know about fuel pump, wastegate, and NO intercooler.

I agree, go custom. teh apex manifold looks like something out of the eighties.

It may not be "pretty" like some of the tubular manifolds, but this will not crack.

You, sir, are an idiot. This is probably the best possible manifold you can get for a honda:

what? that manifold looks sweet, very oem'ish looking. you et that bad boy coated and it would be be even nicer.
if i had the sohc THIS WOULD be the kit I would buy.

Thanks for all the responses guys, Ive been having a hard time getting any kind of feedback on this kit...seems the popular choices always come up. (GReddy, Drag, F-Max, etc.)
I dont give a rats *** about looks, Im all about performance right now. As far as how much performance, Im not trying to build a 300+ hp monster either. I just want a little more zip for my daily driver and minimal lag. 200 hp to the wheels sounds good to me, if you must put a number on it. I have relatively modest goals I suppose.
My final question though, is it easily adjusted to a 96+ SOHC Civic? Im assuming it shouldnt be too difficult, but Im not sure if there will be fuel management issues (OBDI vs. OBDII...does it even come with a "little black box" like the GReddy kits?)

AshlandSI, before I completely destroy you in an argument, how is that the best possible manifold you can get for a Honda. Because it wont crack? Do you know anything about making a turbo manifold? Have you ever made one? How do you know it wont crack, it's made out of cast iron, it WILL crack. I'm glad I saw on points reply before you got to change it so I wouldnt see you call me an idiot. The Apex manifold is far, very far, from the best possible manifold you can get for a Honda.
earlier this season at the track there was a guy with an Si who had modified the apexi kit to fit on his car, or at least some of the apexi kit. Well anyways he said his manifold cracked, and apexi sent him a new one. So yes they do crack, but apexi will probably send you another if it's a defect. BTW this guy was running very low 15's but i never asked how much psi he was shovin through the motor
the apexi kit should be easy to slap on a 6th gen civic, hell ive seen the greddy sohc cam kit modded to fit the 6th gen civic, crx's even 6th gen si's.
the kit is very basic, i think it only comes w/ turbo, piping, manifold,dp,clamps hoses,etc... the ic,pump are "upgrades" but apexi "highly" reccommends them, duh!
anyhow does anyone have the measurements of the ic?
its weird cause you can buy an apexi sylvia core AND HAVE THE ENDTANKS WELDED on for around $550 but the apexicivic ic costs $750+ ??
makes no sense...

y do u always say u sir are an idiot..........i dont like that manifold.....am i an idiot because i dont like a manifold?
I never said the manifold was gay I just said that it looked like something from the 80's. the 4-into a box design reminds me of old toyota headers and stuff. For best results the gases should at least be pointed towards the inlet of the turbo with some sort of collector. With the Apex manifold they're going to kind of swirl around inside the box until they finally find they're way into the turbo. It is fine for a street car, it will get the job done. But calling it the best turbo manifold for a Honda is just plain incorrect.
