Default Re: (TURBO4drTypeR)

Today I've worked till now, 3am CET, on the software.

Here are the open tasks:

- Saving file in FC Datalogit format
- Dynamicaly enable/disable menu/toolbar items
- Icons for the toolbar
- Logging
- Upload only changes to the PFC, On the fly update

The first release will not have 2D and 3D graphs of the maps, sorry.
File comparison and auto tune is not done/tested yet.

Here are some numbers about the project:

- 128 different PFC models, each model have different versions
- About 25,000 lines of code (400 Kb) so far
- 6 month of work

I was able to figure out 10 (hidden) settings this night that can't be changed with FC Datalogit or the Commander

For example you can not only enable or disable "Idle ignition control" but you can also set the "Idle ignition timing".

You can change idle air and also RPM (Rev Limiter?) vs. Water Temperature, some timing (TDC, msec) values and so on.

I guess those values don't need to be changed but they can.

I hope i can tell you more tomorrow.

Andre, I think this is awesome, seriously.. But these are some of the features that I DON'T want to control, some of these should be left to automatic settings. This was the problem w/ the AEM EMS.. TOO MUCH CONTROLABILITY.

Right, but the difference between the PFC and the AEM is that these features must not but can be set.

So you are saying i should not display those values?

Ok, here is how i guess it works. The Rev Limiter you can set with the Commander or FC Datalogit is the Rev Limiter at operating temperature, that is the temperature range somewhere between 50C (122F) and 110C (230F) water temperature.

Then the rev limiter can be set for -10C (14F), 20C (68F), 50C (122F), 110C (230F) water temperature.

Has anyone ever tried if the rev limiter kicks in before the set RPM value when the coolant is cold?

the rev limit will kick in at whatever is set. I will not kick in any earlier due to the water temp.

imho im 100% for the Power Fc.

Have you tested it? Have you watched your water temp on the commander?
The settings are RPM vs. Water Temperature for -10C (14F), 20C (68F), 50C (122F), 110C (230F).

Yes I have. I own a commander and the FC Datalogit. I have tuned, quite a few cars with Power Fc's here in Seattle area.

Same thing with vtec, it will turn on no matter what temp you are at or speed.

Ok, than it must be idle. If you take my post above and replace Rev Limiter with Idle, does that make more sense?

Idle RPM is higher till operating temperature is reached, that would make sense.

yes that would make sence. you get diff. ammounts of fuel at diff. temp.

I'm not talking about Injection vs. Water temp or Ignition vs. Water temp, the table is RPM vs. Water temp.

Figured out one more setting, it's used to lengthen the injector pulse witdh for fuel cut recovery.

No. I think they should be displayed, but Not alterable. I have found in my experience that messing with those particular values with relation to water temperature caused some serious heat problems.

No. He's actually creating his own interface. Take a look at his original post on what his mission is.

I've bought the Datalogit about 2 years ago and i never liked software, that was the point were i thought about making my own software. I'm working as a software developer (car navigation systems) since 5 years and i thought the PFC community deserves something better. I mean i don't want to knock down the Datalogit, but $363 is a nice price and there are no updates, a lot of bugs and not even a manual for some models.

While testing with the Datalogit i had to find out that it has a lot of bugs, if you click "Write" to write a map to the PFC not all columns will be written but some twice. Also if you open a file and click write different columns will be written as if you click "Read all" and then write

There are way more failures, TPS% = TPS Voltage, The "Setting" for Injector and Knock warning is the CEL flash time in mSec and the value needs to be interpreted and they display the value in a raw format etc.

-------------

An other setting seems to be the crank angle where the #1 cylinder TDC (CYP?) syncs.

One more setting, Injection vs. Decelerate TPS.

With the Datalogit Accelerate TPS can be set but there is also Decelerate TPS.

Edit: Does anyone know if idle ignition control only advances the timing if RPM is below idle RPM or also retards the timing if RPM is to high?

Edit 2: The load (MAP or Airflow) value for fuel cut and fuel cut recovery can be set. Fuel cut can only be set while in vacuum.

I've sent a preview of FC Tune to some members.
I should be able to release it to the general public in about 2 weeks.

Check your PM.
Just uploaded a new preview.

Any other readers of this thread who have a FC Datalogit?

I still don't know how the boost settings work, some injection and ignition settings also have boost settings. Datalogit says it is max boost but that doesn't make sense.
