Default Anything wrong with a high idle?

I have a light flywheel built engine /turbo bigger cams and had some issues with the car rpms dipping and catching too low right as it would almost stall every time, I put the idle to about 1300 in hondata, problem solved, gives it an extra buffer to catch itself and it runs great. Anything problematic with having the idle that high? Thanks

Can you be more specific on what parts you have? Or what engine you have? Or...any relevant?

https://honda-tech.com/forced-induct...round-2164678/

B18B standard bore
Eagle Rods
weisco pistons 9.4:1
full supertech valve train w dual springs
gtx2867r on 13lb with 17 timing WOT while i break everything including new clutch 300whp at wheels
ACT 11lb flywheel and excedy clutch
Brian Crower Stage 2 Cams(not my favorite brand but will do for now)
I know all the specs with lift/valve lash too

Coolant is great, I bled it really well it never goes over 190 even after multiple pulls, Oil temp is steady at 180 as well.
No vacuum leaks, I smoke tested it in my garage for quite awhile
I took the IACV off and cleaned it out few weeks ago, it looked just fine when I pulled it but i sprayed a bunch of MAF Cleaner in there anyways.

The rpms just drop when I push the clutch in really fast and it cant catch fast enough, but after me raising the idle to 1300 it catches at around 700 and recovers.

Most cam profiles don't pull enough vacuum at lower idle speeds for the engine to ilde appropriately so you have to raise the idle. I've had it as high 2,000-2,500 depending on cam profile but never that high on most honda cam profiles. Now my Tomei 280s for my SR are retarded lol.

Need to clean up the tune breh

I would say 1k rpm idle is max

Unless those are beefy *** cams look back into the tune

Although if youre using crappy hondata theres no much you can do to fix it

Not true, I have had Skunk2 Pro2 cams idle around 950 RPM just fine on both CROME and Hondata. With Hondata I even had 9lb? (maybe it was 12? Idk) flywheel and was easily able to get it working correctly. Sounds like the OP's tune is off. Look into your fuel cut resume RPM set points as well. There is a lot more to getting it to work flawlessly than just setting table numbers... Was the mechanical idle set or did you just play with the IACV slider?

The sad thing is most don't bother tuning idle because they want the lope.
