the drag intake piping doesn't seem to allow a filter to fit... i got a short elbow piping and another one looks like an "S" shape almost...

hey inspyral whats that metal tubing? i'm assuming its just bringing some more cold air to the filter? i used to have a homemade cold air box wen i was NA but after i boosted that damn thing was at too weird an angle to fit. i gotta hit up home depot and see if i can get a piece of sheetmetal to play with.

that brings up a funny story where my friend told me to position the bov so that it vented the blow-off straight onto the air filter. that way my filter would have air hitting it between shifts so that it'd be there once i got back on the gas. hehe that was a funny kid.

ok now i'm just ranting. lemme pop in a technical question to save my ***: anyone running mesh screen who used to run filter notice any big difference?

The ducting goes to a hole in my bumper and brings in cool air. In regards to the BOV thing, factory-turbo cars have their BOVs or bypass valves dumping back into the intake. As for the difference between running mesh and a filter, I noticed my spoolup got a little slower when I put the fitler on. I used to have the ducting rinning straight to my inlet, which had 2 layers of mesh over it. That setup spooled noticeably quicker than the A'PEXi filter, although I was probably sucking in all kins of stuff.

It's an offroad motorcycle foam filter that I picked up at a local Motorcycle shop for around $15. I'm gonna change it to a small K&N filter soon.
It has gotten quite dirty since those pictures were taken.

Later,
Derek

ive seen some HKS filters that might fit into a tight space..they re not real deep..u could get a 45 degree rubber neck ..some tubing and relocate the filter..but, i wouldnt be running any motor without a filter
