Default anyone use a "pump" to evacuate crankcase pressures?

just wondering, i think i may have found a use for those cheap electric blowers on ebay! i want to cap the ends off and use one as a crankcase pump, think it would work?

i know the real pumps are outrageous, but does anyone have a reasonable replacement for one???

TIA

Either GM or Ford (I think GM) used to use a vacuum pump in one of their cars. Thats been used, but oil contamination becomes a problem i think.

I'm not sure how much real gains you'd get anyway.

PS. whats w/ these damn green ad links. they suck.
