anyone runnign azenis with boost?
anyone runni azenis with boost ? wahts your reaction on them ? i got ES100's they're ok, i love em in the turns etcc but once boost hits they cant handle the 254 lb ft toruque im putting down on 205-50R15 es100's. I heard the ES's are just as sticky as azenis. but then im not sure. whats your guys's take on it ? iw oudl spend the money for some real DR's like BF-= gforces but thats bank and i drive my car pretty often.

my cousins running azenis on this turbo civic and it stops 1st gear from burning out and wheel hop, switching to second. i got the es100 and i have test them and they grip pretty good but im not making as much power as you.

yeah, i have them on 15x6 gsr wheels and they grip great. i only have 220whp/200 tq, but now i almost get through first with no spin, and 1st>2nd shift is only a chirp. They grip very well in the turns as well, i've heard auto-x'ers like them alot. the downside is they're not great in the rain, useless in the snow, and last about a year.

I use a 205/50 15 azenis for street and auto-x. I probably have no more than 160 wtq and w180 hp. On the street they are great for reducing wheel spin and obviously the cornering is awesome. They definitely reduce wheel spin in the top of 1st and 2nd and boosting out of corners for me.
My friend, who make more hp than me (maybe 220wtq and 255whp) runs the ES100s in a 205/45 16. He has a quaife LSD and says the traction is great. It seems like it hooks up great even at low speeds now. As long as you don't try to break them free they seem almost as good as the azenis to me.

I have Azenis on my car as well, I'm also running a Quaife. Car feels great. Grips pretty well, but I never thought of it as a "launch" tire. I mostly got it purely for AutoXing.

I believe the es100's are rated at 280 for compound compared to 200 for azenis. So the azenis are considerably stickier.
i have azenis on my turbo d16 and they stick a lot better than my kuhmos for sure. kinda heavy though cuz they are made for autocross and have really stiff sidewalls.

Re: anyone runnign azenis with boost? (Sohc Driver)
I had kumhos on the car for the first few weeks of boosting. I was waiting for them to take a **** so i could try out the Azenis . When my kumho took a **** last weekend, i borrowed my friends drag radials(555r) that were in my garage. I had fun for a couple days and then went and got the azenis mounted.
All can say is i wasn't disapointed going from the nitto to the azenis. I have very minimal wheel spin in 1st. I have heard poeple running 2.1 60 ft's with these and i think ive heard of a few 2.0's Im goign to the track this weekend to test them out.
We all know what bfg's can do, but if you said $ is an issue and you drive alot then the bfg's may break you.
This weekend i think im going to take the nitto 555r's with me and do a comparison at the track nitto drag radials vs Azenis.

All around good tire......Potenza So-3 rock in the rain rock in the heat and last decent time as long as your got decent alignment and camber.

Azenis are notorious for lousy wet-grip traction.
I've got es100s, and I absolutely love them on 35PSI..
..tire pressure
Here is the thread I used to make my decision:

Re: (94goldjungsr)
see this is what pisses me off.
you drive 60+ mph through deep enough water, then YES the azenis are going to hydroplane (like almost any tire)
but if its wet out /raining and the layer of water on the road isnt higher than say 1" the azenis GRIP and grip better than a lot tires in the wet. its NOT like as soon as they are wet you better watch out
I have had mine for 2 years now daily driven...wet, dry(once in the snow . .it was purely a freak thing that it snowed that early in the season)
and in the wet they do fine.
sure, you wanna race around going really fast, if you come up on a lot of water, your toast. anyways.
they are a decent tire especially for the money.
from that link...im gonna go out on a limb and say traveling in the slow lane going slow in the rain isnt going to cause that kind of wreckage.
at least that guy is ok(edit: 60 mph isnt slow)

i had azenis on my 235wtrq car. spun through first and somewhat in second.

if i slam 2nd gear or even if i ease into 2nd gear and give it gas slowly at high RPM itll smoke the tires anwyays. and ill spin 3rd kinda like a really nice 3nd gear chirp.

Re: (project dc2)
damn i cant wait till i get some of these tires, cause my boosted hatch does not go anywhere with the nitto 450s, i want to see that bigass difference if im able to get traction besides spinning tires..

Re: (EG6owner)
oh man your gonna love it! 450s are garbage compared to azenis (i have run both) Get ready to really rip some corners and do it quietly too good move
anyone ever run the pirelli P700Z? I used to have these in a 205/50 15 sticky and cheap. I think they are discontinued but they used to be 55 bucks or so.
