Default anyone with pr4 ls pistons vtec engine ?

I'm gonna start to get ready to boost my b16. I'm not lookin for alot just 200-250whp dd.

since low compression is safe i figured id just stick with oem pistons. since i'm not goin for a alot it would be a waste of money buying aftermarket pistons,i think. another choice would be oem low compression pistons Ls.

so anyone using ls pistons? hp? engine? good idea?

I did that back in like 96.. pushed 18 psi on a junkyard turbo .. on a b16 with Ls pistons.

problem with the LS pistons.. and ALL oem honda pistons .. IS the ringlands .. But If you stay UNDER 300 WHP you should be fine.. as long as it Tuned.

no need to do that unless your motor is blown already. 250whp can be made with stock everything on 7psi.

dont run anything bigger than ITR cams because the valve reliefs on the ls pistons are smaller than vtec pistons and you will have contact.

correction, itr/ctr cams will hit, i have pr4 pistons in my b16a with ctr cams and they hit even with a .050 headgasket, you just have to enlarge the valvereliefs. i would enlarge them from the getco just to be safe.

agreed, i have the pr4's in my b16a but my goal was over 300whp on 91octane which i did achieve. 333whp at 12psi gt3076r, ramhorn mani, aem ems. teamDmotorsports tuned.

basically OP if your goal is 250 or below your stock motor is fine, i did the pr4 things cause i was on a budget and i had a blown b16a that needed to be repaired, if your motor is healthy just boost it...

its goin to the shop to get all the good stuff done.

And yeah [freak] more aggressive cams (for now), i'm sticking with stock .

yeah i'm on a budget also but i don't mind spending a lil money to lower the chances on detonation, i'm also gonna be taking out the pistons that are in it right now (i gotta take out the crank).

i'm still debating on what pistons to put in .
i guess it depends on the condition on the pistons, i'll find out when i take everything out.

i'm lookin for "reliable" so wouldn't the pr4's be better ?

at 250whp eehhh pr4's are less likely to detonate, they leave more room for bad fuel or a bad tune... i happen to have a set laying around if you want them nib 81mm with rings...
