Default Anyone identify this sleeve setup?

it is a b18c1. its bored to 84mm on what looks like stock type sleeves. the sleeves may be bigger on the od (i didn't measure), but if you look in the water pump and the water plug in the side, the sleeve is covered with aluminum. it has a really nice fitting deck plate that slipped. if i mill it flat again should i be worried the head gasket will seal on whats left of the stock sleeve if the plate slips again? anyone have experience with these?

bob

hmm so there is a deckplate that bolts to the top of that correct? If this is true then shouldnt the sleeves be a bit higher than that deck height? can you get a better pic? that is not a block gaurd it fits too nice in there haha they kinda look like the old AEBS sleeves however the sleeves do look very thing here is a pic of my darton sleeves at 84.5mm bore

no, nothing bolts on top. i dunno if its a block guard, its the best fitting one I've ever seen if it is, its also bout 3/4" thick. I think someone has put bigger sleeves in it. I guess if you think about it whats left around the sleeves would be like sealing a b20 even if it dropped again? the whole thing just scares me cus i will have to stand behind it if something happens down the road now. I'd feel better if someones run this before w/30lbs of boost

i would more than likely bet that is an older model of the JG pro series block, it looks EXACTLY like the one i just assembled and it was 85mm, same closed deck and very thin sleeves.

i am almost positive you cant go 84mm on stock sleeves and still make it work, that would be crazy. i also had some aluminum marks on my sleeves thru the water pump hole, it almost looked like scratches, but know my sleeves are ductile iron tho
